  POLL/SURVEY- Why Did You Leave The Organization of JW's?

  why did you leave the organization of jehovah's witnesses, and/or why are you contemplating leaving the organization of jehovah's witnesses?.

  i've tried to boil it down to the most likely answers based on all the reasons i have heard over the years from xjw's.

  a. because the watchtower bible & tract society does not have the truth.. b. because i had a personality conflict with other members of the organization.. c. because i discovered that the wtbts was not being honest or forthcoming about its history.. d. because serving jehovah was too difficult and i just wanted to be worldly and do wicked things.. e. because the governing body of jehovah's witnesses have proved to be false prophets.. f. because i found just cause to disagree with erroneous jw teachings.. g. because the governing body and/or elders were hypocritical.

  Do most JWs marry in KH?

  years ago, all baptized jws getting married, got married in a kingdom hall.

  is that changing much now-a-days?

  many khs also have several congs.

  yup when I married it was KH as blondie said because we wanted everyone to know we did "go too far" or anything... it wasn't the greatest place to marry but oh ya he wasn't the greatest groom either so who cares now?

  funny cyberjesus... now that I understand birthdays it is almost insane that I hated them for so long. It's just a day for loved ones to appreciate that someone they love was born?! and what is wrong with that? I was telling my "never JW' husband how I hated my birthday growing up I was always afraid someone would find out and I would have to say "i don't celebrate.." and they would look at me like WTF?

  High Profile Case: Seeking Reinstatement

  but our situation is very difficult and quite high profile.... i was raised as a jw and my mother was very strict and abusive.

  i got baptized at age 14.. my mother actually called on my (present) husband's mom in service.

  she was on the initial call resulting in his mom coming in the truth and him being raised in it from about age 8 or 9.. despite a very abusive step-father, he followed his mom's lead and came into the truth.

  Please read crisis of conscience by raymand franz and combating mind control by steven hansen...

  It's a cult! the sooner you and your husband see that the quicker you two can heal! best wishes and just try to love your new life

  I never even when I was a "good" jw felt I was good enough to make it. Now it seems funny the JW New System. I now do my best to enjoy the life we have now.
